AEPF 9 in Vientiane, Laos October 2012


The 9th Asia-Europe Peoples Forum will be orgnized in Vientiane, Lao PDR in the end of October 2012. Some 300 activists from Asia and Europe will gather there. More information on the content of the forum in English can be found at www.aepf.info.



Finnish AEPF Committee Appoints a New Coordinator

In January 2012 Ms Eija Niskanen, a PhD student from Japan, was appointed coordinator for the AEPF Committee (Finland).  Eija Niskanen has been active in Finnish Asiatic Society as its Tokyo correspondent.  She has also studied film studies in US so her English is fluent.

In her capacity as the coordinator, Eija Niskanen will be convening two seminars— ‘Disarmament for Development’ on 10 May 2012 and ‘Asian migrant labour in Finland’ on 5 October 2012.  She will also be responsible for information updates and communication of the Committee network and will be a secretary at the Committee’s monthly meetings.
